National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education's Sheffield complementary schools aim high Sheffield City Council's Learning and Achievement Service has commissioned Languages Sheffield to roll out a national Quality Framework scheme which culminates in complementary schools achieving the award receiving a small grant, as well as the acknowledgement that they are working to a national quality standard. Seven of Languages Sheffield's member complementary schools have embarked on the National Quality Framework Award Programme delivered by Languages Sheffield working in partnership with Sheffield City Council's Learning and Achievement Service. These schools are Arabic Language School, Polish Saturday School, Sheffield and District Chinese School, and Sheffield Star Mandarin School. The Sheffield Farsi School, the Russian Group Club OK, and the Somali Community Culture School, are also well on the way.
Each school works with their mentor, either Jane O'Brien from Languages Sheffield, or Ranjit Chakravorty from the Ethnic Minority and Travellers Achievement Service (EMTAS). Four schools have completed their management files and are working towards the QF Awards.
